Great food. Experimental Asian fusion and it definitely clicks. Totally recommend. Thanks, - Rishabh

Not at all impressed. Will not return. My meal was mildly warm. We were only two in restaurant for dinner. Staff inattentive, actually didn't see either for majority time we were there. We had to ask for water. Meal price was average.

I was expecting this to be better than it was, after reading some of the reviews. Maybe I just caught them at the wrong time. I ordered one of the rice bowls - you pick your own sauce, protein and starch. I was expecting it to be somewhat like the Genghis Grill or one of those places you pick you ingredients and then they make it - not. The presentation was terrible - the lump of rice, lump of sauce. The taste was OK. They served a large quantity, but I would have preferred a smaller quantity with better presentation. I probably will try this place again, as the American sandwiches that others had, looked pretty good.

Came across the Tea Kettle Café in a local write up in the paper, and thought we would check it out ourselves. Being in Columbia Falls, a bastion for the meat and potatoes crowd we had strong doubts going in. We found ourselves sitting outside in the car with our lights off quietly debating the pros and cons of entering this new establishment in a town that has consistently provided us with little to no options. After some time, largely driven by hunger and lack of other options, we ventured in. The layout is from the main door through a long narrow eating area which leads to the back of the establishment where your order is placed. The walk takes you past those that are eating while the order staff sizes you up on your slow approach. It is here at the counter that we gazed over the chalk board containing our options. Choose a starch (rice, soba noodles, etc), sauce (green curry etc), protein (various meats or tofu). We heard that the chef had spent time practicing his trade in a high end Hawaiian restaurant for a few years, so I opted to try something that would put those skills to the test. When the meals had been presented it was clearly fresh and zesty that help make it very enticing. Their is little to indicate that the final dish will be plump with fresh vegetables. But rest assured they will be present. Overall the food was very good. Made with high end fresh ingredients that managed to shine though in the final meal. The soba noodles had been cooked to perfection. The Hawaiian seasonings came through in all the right ways making the dish a real treat. The same could be said about the green curry order with soba noodles. Which she thought was cooked perfectly. The only item that could have been improved was the tofu. Which could have been cooked longer to help it develop a more robust flavor. On our last visit there was no alcohol. Which in some ways limits the atmosphere of the restaurant to take out. Seeing this type of quality Asian meal in the heart of Columbia Falls was a genuine delight. There is little doubt that the bar for Asian cuisine has been raised considerably in the Flathead Valley. Which for far to long has been set disgracefully low. Four stars for the food and presentation. Minus 1 for the take out atmosphere. Plus one for the bravado to shine bright in the heart of the change resistant town of Columbia Falls. Will be stopping in again without a second thought. So should you. Update: By definition, when tofu is requested it is implied that lots of veg be included in the dish. Add more veg please.

We came for lunch based on other reviews. We just finished a week in GNP and were headed to the airport. It's right on the way. We also picked this spot over others because we wanted some different food than what we had been eating for a week in the park. The food was fabulous! I had the pulled pork over mixed greens with the mandarin sweet chili sauce. Every bite was great. The spice was just right, the pork was juicy and the greens were fresh. Hubby had seared chicken over greens with pad Thai sauce. Another great choice. Others in our party had tofu over soba noodles, one with peanut sauce and the other with pad Thai sauce. Great choices! I had huckleberry limeade that was tart and sweet. I wish they had more drink options. Other than mine, the choices were bottles or cans of this or that. The guy taking orders was very nice, but he was new, so he couldn't offer an opinion on what sauces went best with what dishes. He was so nice that I hope he sticks around long enough to try everything. Highly recommend!

Some of my coworkers tossed a restaurant flyer on the conference room table for Tea Kettle Cafe, and it lay there taunting me all week until I stopped by. It opened last week, filling a huge gap in Flathead Valley cuisine. Rice and soba noodle bowls, various vietnamese rolls and sandwiches, indian curries, quesadillas and light snacks for kids - finally! The noodles and veggies aren't fried in two cups of oil - the veggies are crisp - and is that freshly chopped cilantro I get on top of my noodles? There's even tofu and tempeh options for the very very few vegetarians among us here in northwest Montana. Pick your protein, pick your sauce, mix and match with rice or noodles or a sandwich. The restaurant is just getting its legs, so if you're in a hurry for lunch, I suggest calling ahead to place an order so it's ready for pick up. This place is clean and delicious. It's open 11-7 pm (right now) Mon-Sun - convenient for takeout or eat in. No website yet, and I'm not even sure the menus have been printed. You'll have to content yourself with looking at the chalkboard of specials.

Great new spot for fast, affordable and convenient food in "uptown" Columbia Falls. Wide variety of Asian and Indian influenced bowls with your choice of meats, veggies, and noodles or rice. Who would have thought you would ever be able to order a panang curry or bahn mi sandwich in Columbia Falls. Great appetizers too like samosas and potstickers. If Asian isn't your thing the also have pulled pork sandwiches and a variety of southern ish food. They are open from 11-7 which is great to be able to grab a quick dinner.

Okay, soooooo I tried the pulled pork today for the first time. Huckleberry BBQ, coleslaw, man was it tasty! Best in the valley for sure.

Absolutely great! Thanks guys. Brown rice, pulled pork with rojo sauce is a must! Ian, the owner even surprised us with dessert. Dairy-free Coconut banana bread pudding.

Don't let the uber understated front and mimimalistic interior put you off, when it comes to food, this place has got it going on! Dishes that are flavorful, reasonably priced, and not the same ole same ole is what you're going to experience here. Take a chance and give Tea Kettle a try, I doubt you'll be disappointed.
